This is a doorknob heart to hang that I made for a wee gift for Jamie and Sami. They love penguins so I did a bride with veil, pearl necklace and wedding flowers and the groom with bow tie. Their colors were black and white.

One year ago today, my baby sister, Jacqueline was killed in a tragic car accident. Her baby daughter, Emily, and I went to the cemetary today and took flowers. It was difficult and I shed some tears, but I also felt a peace knowing Jacqueline is happy now and would be so proud of her baby daughter, who she loved so dearly. Because Jacqueline was missed at Jamie's wedding last Saturday night, Emily and I sat down and blew some of the bubbles from the wedding. The picture is Jacqueline and her son and two daughter's--she loved them all so very much.

Well glory be! It finally posted--even if the picture is turned sideways, lol. This is the block from a rr that I recently posted. I can't wait to stitch it into a wall hanging for my dining room. So many very talented ladies stitched beautifully on it and it shall be treasured.

I am so frustrated. I have tried four times today to upload a picture and it won't appear. I got my block back from a rr that I was in and it is truly beautiful and I want to share but I can't. Dang it all!

I've tried my hands at dyeing (have the colored fingers to prove, lol) with Easter dyes. This is only a small portion of what I did as my sweet aunt gave me lots of motiffs when I visited recently.

Life has been rather hectic of late; so I haven't been posting, but please stay tuned and perhaps my creative juices will begin flowing again, lol. I've just been exhausted physically and mentally for a bit. Here is a pic of a scarf I recently bought at a thrift shop. The lady was all in white; so I had to alter the colors a bit.

I've been working on my friend Judith's block for the teaparty rr. I used the head of my hanky girl, added the shoe, flowers surrounding, silver teapot and the feather stitch with buds on seam beneath. This has been such a fun rr.

A few years ago, I was playing one day and decided to draw and paint this flapper lady to embellish. I hope to have some new pics of things recently made in a couple of days.

Happy Easter to All! May your day be filled with the love of God and family. I hope you find lots of Easter eggs and chocolate bunnies. I took confetti eggs to my little Will today and I think it was his favorite gift ever, lol. It has been a fun tradition in our family since my sister Mary introduced them many, many, many years ago, lol. We have made them all these years, but I found them at the stores this year.

Today I finished a heart for Juliette. We are having beautiful weather and perfect temperatures.

Friday, April 07, 2006

I finished a heart for the swap with Jo; so I could get in the mail tomorrow. I hope she likes it.

I've been enjoying spending time with my grandson Will and in my spare moments trying to finish this spring block. The two pics are left and right side.

This is the newest heart that I am working on. I decided to add a teensy little crinoline lady--which was the dickens to cut out. Now to do the embellishing.

Thursday, March 23, 2006

I wanted two show two hearts that my friend Mary sent. They are both beautiful.

This lovely heart was made by my friend, Janice. I love the umbrella and can't wait to try one myself. Or would that be parasol, lol!

I've been trying for days to put a picture of my completed crinoline lady. I had a basic pattern and then did my own thing. I consider this one a learning experience.

This is the latest heart I created for Maureen in the Chain of Hearts swap. I pieced it like one my friend Mary did for me. She inspires me so much.

Friday, March 10, 2006

This is one of my pouches I made. I painted the mermaid and then added the beaded hair and other embellishments.

Since I haven't been able to create recently, I have decided to share one of my AOL tins that I made into a needleholder.

This is the culprit that caused me to not be able to post. It tossed me to the floor on February 28 while Will (5 year old gson) and I were riding scooters. I'm slowly able to move a bit again but my whole body is a lovely green shade from all the bruises. The rib has been the most painful. Ouch!! It hurt, lol. Will and I may need to find a new hobby.

Today was a lovely sunny day in Texas. I'm still stitching on my crinoline lady and can't wait to share. I had a lovely visit from my friend Linda today. She oohed and aahed over it. I thought I would share the mermaid that I did a few years ago. It is hanging in my bath with all the seashells I collected in my travels.

Friday, February 24, 2006

I'm sitting here working on a crinoline lady embroidery--that I shall share when I get further along. My five year old grandson, Will, spent the day with me; so I didn't start stitching until late. I just enjoyed playing with him earlier. I thought I would share one of my favorite pieces that I stitched in the past. I love fans and have ideas for creating several others someday.

The weather is going to be perfect all week for stitching--cold and drizzly rain. I've pieced a pillow for my dear niece, Sara, today. Tomorrow I will begin the fun part of embellishing. There will be a lot of love going into this pillow for Sara and for my baby sister, Jacqueline, who died in June of this past year.

Tuesday, February 21, 2006

I completed another heart tonight to swap with Jakkie. It is done with hankerchiefs.

Sunday, February 19, 2006

This is the other rr block I have worked on today. I sketched the hand from a small charm I have and then embroidered.

I haven't been stiching for the last few days because two of my grandchildren have been taking turns staying with me. Today I finished up some work on a round robin I am in.

Wednesday, February 15, 2006

I completed another little heart for my friend, Rita. It was fun and done all in her favorite blues.

Tuesday, February 14, 2006

I loved doing these ladies. This is another hanky lady.

A few years ago, out of my love for hankies, I designed a pillow with a hanky lady.

Sunday, February 12, 2006

I've finished another valentine. The embroidered heart was inspired by a blog I visited: http://boiteacouture.blogspot.com/ Even though I don't speak french, it is a wonderful, fun blog.

Saturday, February 11, 2006

The heart that Mary E. made for me is gorgeous. The stitching is so delicate and beautiful. I have a beautiful collection of teapots (my pincushion is even in a little teapot) and this will be perfect framed in my dining room with them. Mary and I met at a cq retreat years ago and formed a precious friendship that I truly value.

I have to share gifts received from one of my dearest friends, Mary. She is truly one of the most gifted women I have ever met. I reeived this pincushion doll from her and it is a treasure.

Friday, February 10, 2006

Today I mailed the finished heart to Florence.

Thursday, February 09, 2006

I've been working on this valentine for a dear friend. I'm also working on something which is a secret and can't post yet, lol.

Thursday, February 02, 2006

Today I finished a heart for Karen. Now I am off to do one very similiar for another swap.

Wednesday, February 01, 2006

I finished up the peach heart with the cat print. I added a topiary, which I love making.

Tuesday, January 31, 2006

Today I completed the leopard print heart.

Sunday, January 29, 2006

I just finished the underwater heart. On to the next.

Today has been a lovely day in Texas. The sun was shining and the temperature was nice. I have embellished one of the hearts and even managed to cook chicken and spaghetti for dinner, lol.

Saturday, January 28, 2006

Heart 6 is a jungle theme. I want to get two more ready for embellishing and then I need to take a break.

Heart 5 is purple. I want to start embellishing, lol. I'm going to the wild side in piecing now.
This has been a perfect day for stitching--a lovely rain, which everyone has been praying for. It has been way too dry in Texas.

I have finished piecing Heart #4. I am having so much fun and so many new ideas for hearts keep popping into my mind. This is a peach heart with the cat print. It should be fun to embellish. Well back to piecing more.

I've decided to share some of my recent creations. I love to paint and combined that with my silk ribbon work.

I have just mailed a new heart I made to Julia for the Chain of Hearts group. It is in my favorite victorian style and in burgundy and pink with a print of young girls at a tea party.
