I'm working on a tassel now and have been arranging some birdnests. I'll try to share some pics as soon as my batteries are charged. I was in a store yesterday and then owner told me--bird nests are the new in thing. I thought geez, I have had bird nests in my home for twenty years. Blessed Sunday to all.

I've finished painting the birdhouse lamp. For the finial, I added a tiny nest with eggs. The shade is a large doiley that I am adding bird broaches to. I found five and need eleven more. Oh my! I need to hit the thrift stores for bird broaches.

I am working on this birdhouse lamp at the moment--it is just plain shabby cream and I am painting some pictures on it. Hope to show the finished project tomorrow.

I made this candle centerpiece for my dining room table. I took a gold urn (with a small opening), added an ivy bowl to the top and a grapevine canlde wreath (to which I added beaded grapes. Turned out rather pretty, if I do say so myself. I am so delighted to have my printer-scanner up and running again.
Today has been a cloudy drizzly day; so perfect for staying in and creating.

I am blessed! Today, I was given the results of the Pet Scan and there is no new or left over thyroid cancer. Praise the Lord! I've been creating again and wish I could share pictures, but my printer is not cooperating. I've been doing some of the dishes on candlesticks and love them. I also made a new centerpiece candle holder for my dining table. It is constructed of a smaller mouthed gold urn, to which I added an ivy bowl surrounded by a candle wreath of grape leaves and some beaded grapes that I had. With a fat pilar candle, it turned out just the way I wanted. Now I am going to return to my painting for a bit--I think I shall do some birds and bird's nest on canvas. I've gotten a bit of my energy back and am doing a bit of house cleaning and redecorating too. All the Valentine decorations are out. Have a wonderful week.

In June, following thyroid surgery, my life was turned upside down. The doctor walked into his exam room and said "I've got some bad news." Follicular Variant of Papillary Carcinoma with hurthle cell change. Not exactly what you want to hear when you are alone and thinking you are having just a routine check-up. July 23rd, I had the second surgery. Here it is October--almost November--and my TSH level is 64 when it should be 2. It is still down from the 150 it got up to. My blogging ability and creative abilities just flew out the window. I am determined today to use the gifts of creation that God gave me and hope to show something very soon.

I went to the neurosurgeon today. I am put on hold until Friday week, when they will take another mri and some more xrays. The foot is healing a bit every day.

How is this for a cute shoe, lol! Unfortunately they only come in one per set. I went to the ortho doc today and he changed the splint and bandage for this shoe--so much more comfortable. The foot is healing nicely and I will be good as new before long. Hope everyone had a wonderful St. Patrick's Day!

This is my hallway. This is my area that I have decided to show my love of birds. I must say that if a bird happens to fly into the house, I am petrified and run for cover, lol. There are birdhouses and nests and birds in the hallway--along with many family pictures.

Tomorrow I go to the orthopedic doctor to have a permanent cast of some type put on my foot. He was out of town last week or it would already be done. How I wish I had shaved my legs and painted my toenails before the fall!

I had so many plans to make special gifts for this Easter. I am going to try and work on some today; so hopefully will have a picture soon.

As a final thought, this is a day that the Lord has made, let us be glad and rejoice in it!

In one of the crazy twists and turns of life, I fell Sunday and broke one of the metatarsal bones in my left foot. I called my sister and told her I guess we were competing, lol. Of course she won as she broke three bones, lol. Hopefully soon, I shall be back to creating.

Sisters are one of the special gifts from God. Actually, there were four sisters, but the baby (Jacqueline) was 15 years younger than me; so wasn't born at this time. She now is at home in heaven. This is from left to right, Peggy (the baby at this time), Mary (the first born) and myself, Judy (the middle child). This post is about Mary. She fell and broke her leg in 3 places last week and underwent surgery today. She tripped while walking her little dog. She is doing well, but still has a bit of a recovery. Mary has had our mother, who has Alzheimers, living with her for many years. That makes her part "saint". She is also one of the most creative and talented people around--has made many gorgeous quilts. Get well quick Mary!

I keep telling myself--two more days and then hopefully no more pain and headaches. I feel like a wimp. Yesterday I stayed on a heating pad. Today I've decided to share a wall hanging that I made for my oldest son. He loves all things cowboy; so I made it with a western flair. On the first is a picture of my son, his son, and me. The second picture includes the little indian (grandson) swinging in a tree, lol, my son dressed for days gone by and the little gun in holster was from a set of diaper pins that my son wore as a baby.

I won't be stitching for a few more days; so I shall share one of my hearts (which really needs to be finished up, lol) I have to go back on Monday for an MRI again and then will see a neurologists Tuesday. I have been dealing with a headache from a neck injury; so no creating this week. After a doctor visit tomorrow, I hope to be able to stitch again. I shall share a picture of a pillow that I made as a wedding gift for a cousin not too long ago. The lighting made the top corner appear gold, but it all white and cream.

This is a work in progress that I have decided to finish up. I love hands--they tell so much about someone. I think the reason I love antiques is knowing that someone lovingly touched something long ago. I have a little collection of hand dishes and they make me smile to see them holding things. Ahh, back to the block. When finished it will be part of a victorian themed wall hanging. I did the hand on fabric--I enjoy painting on fabric as it unites two of my creative pastimes. When finished there will be a lacy cuff and jewelry. Hope you enjoy.

I am terribly claustrophobic. I have no idea why. Today I had to have an MRI. With some calming medicine and my face covered with a washcloth, I made it through with no problem, lol.
I hopefully will have the results Monday. Unforturnately, for my creating, the medicine has kept me sleepy all day; so hopefully I will be able to do something tomorrow. Blogger refuses to let me add a picture, sorry.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for the good wishes and sweet comments. I'm feeling a bit better--now waiting for an MRI to be scheduled. I wanted to introduce my baby, Queenie. I got her in November from the humane society here. She was such a scruffy little thing when I got her, but has been spoiled rotten and is a joy--so loving and sweet and well trained.
I'm trying to finish the wedding pillow and shall share a picture soon.

It has been a while since I posted. I have been having some health problems which I'm trying to get under control. Today I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I had to force myself to start creating again and will show you what I've been doing. I have fell in love with the crinoline ladies and here is what I have made. She was done using crayolas and then embroidery stitching and silk ribbon embroidery. See her little teapot she is holding!

This is a doorknob heart to hang that I made for a wee gift for Jamie and Sami. They love penguins so I did a bride with veil, pearl necklace and wedding flowers and the groom with bow tie. Their colors were black and white.

One year ago today, my baby sister, Jacqueline was killed in a tragic car accident. Her baby daughter, Emily, and I went to the cemetary today and took flowers. It was difficult and I shed some tears, but I also felt a peace knowing Jacqueline is happy now and would be so proud of her baby daughter, who she loved so dearly. Because Jacqueline was missed at Jamie's wedding last Saturday night, Emily and I sat down and blew some of the bubbles from the wedding. The picture is Jacqueline and her son and two daughter's--she loved them all so very much.

I've tried my hands at dyeing (have the colored fingers to prove, lol) with Easter dyes. This is only a small portion of what I did as my sweet aunt gave me lots of motiffs when I visited recently.

This is the culprit that caused me to not be able to post. It tossed me to the floor on February 28 while Will (5 year old gson) and I were riding scooters. I'm slowly able to move a bit again but my whole body is a lovely green shade from all the bruises. The rib has been the most painful. Ouch!! It hurt, lol. Will and I may need to find a new hobby.

Today was a lovely sunny day in Texas. I'm still stitching on my crinoline lady and can't wait to share. I had a lovely visit from my friend Linda today. She oohed and aahed over it. I thought I would share the mermaid that I did a few years ago. It is hanging in my bath with all the seashells I collected in my travels.

I'm sitting here working on a crinoline lady embroidery--that I shall share when I get further along. My five year old grandson, Will, spent the day with me; so I didn't start stitching until late. I just enjoyed playing with him earlier. I thought I would share one of my favorite pieces that I stitched in the past. I love fans and have ideas for creating several others someday.

The heart that Mary E. made for me is gorgeous. The stitching is so delicate and beautiful. I have a beautiful collection of teapots (my pincushion is even in a little teapot) and this will be perfect framed in my dining room with them. Mary and I met at a cq retreat years ago and formed a precious friendship that I truly value.
